5th. Kariyado no Geba Sakura
Geba Cherry Tree came from the reason that Minamoto no Yoritomo who was the founder and the first shōgun of the Kamakura shogunate got off from his house to see this cherry tree. This tree is about 800 years old; it is one the oldest Shiroyama cherry trees in Japan. In March 1952, this tree was registered as a natural monument. Every year April, Kariyado Cherry Festival is taking place around Geba Cherry Tree, Kariyado, Fujinomiya City. During the festival, visitors can enjoy Japanese traditional dance performances and tea ceremonies. There are Japanese paper Washi making sections as well as stalls where people can buy the local products.
From JR Fujinomiya Station, take a bus service Destination: Shiraito Falls and get off at at Kariyado Geba Cherry Tree entrance. The duration is about 25 min, then walk about 10 min.
4th. Tanuki lake
Tanuki lake is the place where people can witness the double diamond Mt. Fuji phenomenon; it is a natural phenomenon that the reflection of Mt. Fuji and the sun can be seen on the lake surface. The name Tanuki lake came from Jirousanenaga Tanuki who was the person responsible for the maintenance of the Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha Shinto shrine as well as for leading worship of a given kami; he retired near the lake in 1384. Visitors can only witness the double diamond Mt. Fuji phenomenon two weeks in a year around the 24th of April and 20th of August. Apart from that, visitors can enjoy birds watching all year around. From the end of June to the beginning of July, fireflies are visible during night times.
From JR Fujinomiya Station, take a bus service Destination: Shiraito Falls or Kyukamura FUJI (this service is ran by FujikyuShizuoka Bus) and get off Kyukamura FUJI.

3rd. Asagiri Plateau
Asagiri Plateau is located at the bottom of the Mt. Fuji; the place is full of wild life. The name came from the morning fog that often cover this area. Visitors would love the green field at the altitude of 700～1,000ｍ and its peaceful atmosphere. Asagiri Plateau is also known for the closest place to enjoy Mt. Fuji and one the famous dairy production areas. There is a restaurant in the area thus people can enjoy meals and have a rest.
From JR Fujinomiya Station, take a bus service Destination: Mt. Fuji station via Lake Motosu, the duration would be about 50 min, get off at Asagiri Plateau. From Kawaguchiko Station, take a bus service Destination: Mt. Fuji station via Fujinomiya Station and Lake Motosu, the duration would be about 60 min get off at Asagiri Plateau.
2nd. Shiraito Falls
Shiraito Falls is located in Fujinomiya city, Shizuoka Prefecture. Their flow is beautiful as if it’s silk thread. This waterfall is government-designated Scenic beauties as well as registered natural monument. In October 1950, it won the first place of the best 100 sightseeing spots in Japan under waterfall category. In 1990, it was chosen to be one of the best 100 waterfalls in Japan. There is another waterfall near by that is called Otodome Falls. This waterfall has longer fall thus it gives out much powerful impression compare to Shiraito Falls that gives out much softer impression. Visitors shall visit both waterfalls: Shiraito Falls and Otodome Falls.
From JR Fujinomiya Station, take FujikyuShizuoka bus service Destination: Shiraito Falls, the duration would be around 30 min, then get off at Shiraito Falls Information Front. Then about 5 min walk from the bus stop.
1st. Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha
Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha is the main branch of 1300 Asama shrines all over Japan. They attract many tourists every year; they spend their time at this historical place. This shrine is popular amongst females because they believe this shrine has a power for a good relationship. Its main building is very famous because Tokugawa Ieyasu who was the founder and first shōgun of the Tokugawa shogunate, built it when his wish became reality in 1604. It is a beautiful red construction. On 5th of May, there is Yabusame ( traditional Japanese archery) festival at this shrine. This festival is registered as important intangible folk culture asset by Fujinomiya City.
From JR Fujinomiya Station, take a bus service from bus stop No 4, and get off at Wakutama Pond.
2. Getting to Fujinomiya Station from Tokyo Station
From Tokyo station take JR Tokaido line to Fuji station. And transfer to Minobu line and get off at Fujinomiya station. Taking a bullet train half way (Approx. 5,040JPY 2hours) . Take Tokaido bullet train “Kodama” from Tokyo to Mishima. And then transfer the train to a local train of JR Tokaido line and get off at Fuji station. Again, transfer to Minobu line and it will bring you to Fujinomiya station.
