Fukuroda Waterfall is 120m height and 73m width and can be counted as one of the three best Japanese waterfalls in Japan. You can see four seasons of its appearance such as green of the sprouting trees in Spring, seeking for the cool in Summer, the colorful autumn leaves make up the waterfalls in Autumn, and the waterfall froze in severe cold in Winter. About the appearance of these four seasons, it has been told that Saigyo buddhist monk visited this place in Heian era, and said that “If you do not visit every four seasons you will not be able to taste the true elegance”. Fukuroda waterfall is selected as a sacred place for lovers in 2015 and you can find the monuments of a lover’s sacred place with a motif of oshidori which is a bird of Daigo town in the observation tunnel.
It opens from 8am to 6pm from May to October and from 9am to 5pm from November to April. The entrance fee is 300 yen for adults and 150 yen for kids.
